I have not had a real vacation since I was in the seventh grade!! Sad but true. It is amazing how fast time goes. It just slips away. I have dreamed of vacationing for some time now. I love hearing about others who have been blessed enough to go. I hope soon I will be able to create and experience an adventure of my own.

For our honeymoon we spent 7 days exploring New York City and then boarded a Royal Carribbean cruise ship in New Jersey for 10 days sailing around the islands of the Carribbean. It was a perfect mix of fast paced city life, exploring the beauty of an amazing city by foot, followed by the extreme relaxation, pampering, and elegance found on a cruise.

During the week we spent in New York City, we took in several Broadway shows, shared a moment of silence at the site of the World Trade Centers, explored the burrows of the city via the subway, researched family history at Ellis Island, traveled to the top of the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building, and took in the performances of many street musicians in Times Square.

During the 10 days on our cruise we dressed up in formal attire, dined on 5 course 5 star cuisine, experienced impressive shows including an ice show where the performers did olympic style jumps despite a boat moving at full nautical speeds, and took in lots of beautiful sunsets! The best part was stopping at 4 different ports of call for a day of exploration, including St. Thomas, St. Martin, Labadee, and San Juan. How else can you enjoy 4 cities in 4 different countries without having to pack and unpack anything!

Now on a smaller budget and smaller time crunch we had a blast on this summer's adventure!!! We traveled to Sandusky, Ohio and stayed at the Cedar Point Resort. A peninsula surrounded by the waters of Lake Erie hosts one of the worlds top roller coaster parks. On the first day of our trip we took in all of the parks 17 roller coasters...and wow, several took my breath away! Most of the roller coasters are designed to make you feel as you are riding straight into the water. A bonus is that the park is open until midnight so you can even enjoy coasters in the dark!

On the second day we repeated our top 3 favorites, waiting additional time to be thrilled by a front seat experience. Most of day 2 was spent at the water park, also located in the resort. You can't beat time floating on the lazy river to wash away any signs of the stress of life! On our third and final day of our trip we boarded a ferry and traveled to 2 different islands out in Lake Erie. Both allowed you to rent golf carts and explore all of the sights.

Our motto is that any trip we take has to include some fast paced adventured mixed with intentional time for relaxation around a beautiful sunset!

Hands down it would have to have been San Jose, CA....but more specifically San Francisco...

Coming from such a small town in central MN...I don't get out of the state much, so when this trip came about I couldn't have been more excited!!

Even though we only saw a few parts of San Francisco (from the ferry over to Sausalito) I have decided that before I die, I want to live there!!

We've only traveled in the U.S., but found many interesting/beautiful places to see. We've enjoyed Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, Estes Park (Rocky Mountain National Park) in Colorado, the Maine coast, Stowe, Vermont where the Trapp family built a lodge. (Think "Sound of Music" family). Seattle, Washington also has a lot of interesting places to see, Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, Ho Rainforest, and of course, the Pacific Ocean. You can take a ride on the river in San Antonio, Texas, while learning the history of the city. A place we've been to many times, and is a short drive away is the Black Hills of S.D.

i have been following your Blogs since the sectuplets were born. One of my favorite places was the Swiss Alps. I backpacked around Europe when I was in college. Another of my favorite places is Hawaii. I am looking forward to visiting Cabq San Lucas.
