Museum of Natural History

Monday, January 21st, 2008

We were in and out of several museums and I took pictures at all of them but I think all of these were taken at the Museum of Natural History! (Sorry if I’m wrong.) It had too much emphasis on evolution for my liking but, at least the pictures will be interesting for you to see.

This was the main entrance…I read that the skin of this elephant was shipped and reconstructed on site. The skin alone weighed 2 tons!

Adriah thought this t-rex was very scary…

WWII Memorial and Lincoln Monument at Night!

Monday, January 21st, 2008

After going through tons of museums and walking/standing all day…this pregnant lady was ti-red! And the boys were still wanting to see more so, I gave Matt a camera and he shot these next images.

I’m so proud of him! So, why not share it with you.

The National Art Gallery

Monday, January 21st, 2008

Amy and I took Adriah to the National Art Gallery while the boys went to the Air and Space Museum. I love that my two year old took in art and loved it!

Not that there wasn’t moments of boredom.

The Capitol Building!

Monday, January 21st, 2008

Did you hear about the guy that was walking down the street towards the capitol with a loaded rifle, bow and arrow and a samurai sword? You can read about it on CNN. That happened two hours before we went there for pictures! Crazy! I didn’t get any shots of that but we did get a couple others.

I tagged along with a high school group tour for a bit and learned a ton! I love feeling like a spy on a mission…I don’t get out much!

img_0026-small.jpg

I didn’t bring Adriah’s winter jacket so she wore one of Joel’s in Washington…she looked like a little boy but, she was warm!

I loved this tree!

Washington D.C. - Jefferson Memorial

Monday, January 21st, 2008

Well…buckle in and prepare to see shots of our tour in the capitol city!

img_0197-small.jpg

I could’ve spent hours reading the walls, contemplating, and marveling at the beauty…but it was too cold! I have to come back in the summer when all the trees have leaves, the pools reflect the monuments and the weather is doable! Yesterday was freezing in Washington! I mean freezing…I couldn’t feel my face after being out in the wind for 5 minutes!
