I’m getting behind…

Friday, May 30th, 2008

I have been “under-the-weather” this week. The stomach flu has been going around and I got a vicious version of it! I was so sick yesterday I couldn’t do a thing…but thankfully I have an incredible husband and he let me stay in bed while he came home to take care of our kids! I was really sick! I would go from being drenched in my own sweat to so freezing I couldn’t stop shaking. I have other ailments but I want go into the details. I don’t know what people(mom’s) do when they don’t have anyone to call and they are “stay in bed” sick. I was truly thankful for his help. Not only did he take care of the kids he made meals, did laundry and vacuumed! Sorry ladies he’s already taken!

I’m feeling a little better today but still shaky. Sorry to the brides who are patiently waiting for pictures…I’m on it…just a little slower then usual.

So, all this to say, wash your hands! I hope you don’t get this virus.

I am so tired!

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

My son is going through a growth spurt and has changed from eating every 3 hours to every 2 hours. It makes a big difference! I know that this is just a stage and he’ll be sleeping through the night soon but, wow, you forget how hard it so to function on so little sleep.

The up-side is that he’s absolutely beautiful and starting to communicate with his eyes…he will stare adoringly at anyone holding him! He’s incredibly alert and has a sweet disposition. I love him and even at 3am he makes me smile…I can’t believe he’s mine!

I have a son. He’ll someday tower over me and eat all the food in the house but, for now I get to hold him and take care of him!

Adriah has a little brother and she adores him. This morning when he was crying she says to her daddy, “Dad, can you get the bottle ready? Baby brother is crying and needs milk!” She is a little momma. I love it when she’s trying to comfort him and uses all the sayings I use: “It’s alright buddy,” “I know - I know - I know,” and “Are you hungry?” I am truly blessed by this 3 year old little girl.

Sometimes I blog for you but today I needed to write this blog to remind myself that I could focus on how tired I am and be miserable for the next few weeks OR I enjoy this stage, slow down, rest, and realize I will never have him this tiny again! It’s a precious time in our family. I going to choose not to complain today!

Maureen & Evan’s Engagement Pictures

Monday, May 26th, 2008

We’re back in the swing of things and here’s the first batch of engagement pictures of the season! I’m so excited to introduce you to this couple…they’ve been dating since highschool and it was so easy to capture their love for each other! We took the pictures at the University of Minnesota campus (Evan had just taken his final exam the morning of our shoot!)

I hope you enjoy them…

What do you do with your digital pictures?

Monday, May 19th, 2008

I thought this was an interesting question sent in by one of my readers:

Here’s a question I’m dying to know the answer to…

I imagine you have tons of personal pictures (of you and your family). What do you do with all the pictures you take? Do you put them in albums, keep them on your computer, or have them framed? I have so many pictures myself and don’t know what to do with them all!

Thanks!

Take care,

Kristi

Well, I blog and put pictures on Facebook as soon as I can! Then, I keep them stored on my computer (sorted by month or event) and a couple times a year I take a trip down memory lane and look at a bunch of old pictures. I upload tons at a time and have them printed for my photo album…I still love sitting down and looking at pictures in “hard copy.”

As for pictures of Adriah, I put together a digital coffee table book of her first year and I’ll probably do her second and third year in another book. I’ll do Leyton’s first year in the same model (cause I am second born and fairness is very important to me!) Then, I’ll continue making books for the family. I plan to give the kids their first year books and keep the rest for me…I’ll let them look at it when they come home to visit!

Finally, when I take a picture that makes me smile every time I look at it…I blow it up and frame it!

What do you do? OR better yet what do you wish you did with all your digital pictures.

Fun in the sun with family…it was so sad to see my sister go!

Adriah’s being smooshed in this picture…

Adriah’s favorite pastime is doing “crafts” and kind of coloring or cutting or gluing…
