More of my Random-ness
Monday, July 28th, 2008What decides success? Who defines it? Better yet who really achieves it? I remember when I worked full-time…at the end of the day I’d walk to my car and feel full cause I had done a ton, finished a bunch, solved problems and impacted people.
I was thinking about this a lot today. I had fun with my kids and didn’t “do” a whole lot besides “be” with them. I love being a mom and there’s so many times during the day that I laugh at my life…it’s a sweet gig! But, having said that, I didn’t “do” anything that fits into the category of a successful day. Unless the definition of success was: teaching my son blow bubbles and laugh, setting up the water slide and watching my daughter giggle while running through it and slide into the mud, listening to my mom and the hard things she’s going through, being there for my husband as he walks another family through the loss of a loved one. If this is success then I had a very successful day.
I know a write about a lot of different things on this blog and I know a lot of different people read it: brides wanting to get to know me, friends and family who want to stay up to date with what going on in my life, photographers who get bored editing their own pictures, women who starting reading because they were concerned about the Morrison babies and others who just stumbled on it. All that to say, today I want you to know what ever you did it was someone else’s definition of successful. If only we could all relax and enjoy our own lives. Instead of everything you didn’t do think about everything you did and did right!
hmmm. I’ll try to do that better tomorrow.

Photography Question
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008One of my readers comment on the blog a couple of days ago and I wanted to answer her question for everyone.
Hi Noemi-
I love these pictures. My favorite is the one where she is walking down the stairs which lead me to thinking that you probably have great ideas on the best places to get married or to take wedding pictures. What have been your favorites?
The very simple honest answer is I love to capture brides (and entire weddings) in new locations. Not necessarily new in years but new to me. There’s nothing better then walking into a situation and being forced to be creative in a new way. I love the high and challenge of it! I have to assess light, possible angles, foreground and background, natural reflections and most of all…what’s flattering to the subject. Oooooh, I love it!
Sometimes I’ll go to places I’ve been to shoot but when I do I challenge myself to not use the background or light in the same way. ‘m a strong believer in pushing yourself so that you’re always creating…I don’t ever want to be predictable.

Sylas Christopher Morrison
Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008For those of you who don’t know who this is…I’ll do a little recap. My friends (Brianna and Ryan) got pregnant in 2006 with SIX babies. All 6 were born June 10th, 2007 at 22weeks and 6days. Sylas is our miracle baby! Well, more hers then mine but since we walked through it with her…I got to watch this miracle unfold right in front of me. If you want to see pictures and more posts look on the right side of this blog and click “Sextuplets”
For a long time Brianna and Ryan pulled back from the public eye so they could focus on Sylas and being parents but, just this morning she told me she started a blog. I’m very happy to be able to follow his life and her thoughts as she parents him…and I LOVE BLOGS! More then that, she wants to invite you to follow too!

I hope she posts lots of pictures!

The Albojer Family Photos
Saturday, July 19th, 2008Ever since last summer when my brother (who’s also a photographer) captured my family I’ve been wanting to return the favor. Last week, when we were visiting, I got my chance! It was such a blast and a blessing to capture this family! My nephews are polar opposite. One is compliant and up for anything and the other can’t sit still so it made the shoot “interesting” but, we laughed the whole time! I sweat when I take pictures of kids 12months-18months cause I’m entertaining the whole time…I’ll do anything for a great shot!
Here’s a couple:
I love my family!
