Julie and Joe’s Wedding Pictures!

Monday, July 14th, 2008

We had the perfect day! Really…the weather, the wedding party, the ceremony, the reception…IT WAS PERFECT! I even got teary at some of the speeches at the reception! I don’t think that’s ever happened to me. Sometimes I get a little misty at the ceremony but never the reception! This wedding was a delight to capture. AND her dress was gorgeous!

See for yourself:

Christi & Tony’s Wedding Photos

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

This was my first wedding at the St. Paul Cathedral and I’m in love with that church! I guess the waiting list is over a year long…but so worth it! Christi and Tony…thank you for letting me be apart of your day! We laughed so much…I loved it!

I may have even won Tony over…to love (or at least like) pictures! That was my secret goal of the day. :)

I hope you love your pictures:

Amy and Anthony’s Wedding Pictures

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

This was my first wedding of the 2008 season and I must say, “It’s great to be back in the saddle!” I get to do a job I love and be a blessing to people on the best day of their lives. Amy and Anthony had waited a long time for this day and it was worth the wait. We had a perfect day - one of the few beautiful days we’ve had this spring! I loved the Saint Paul Hotel and the carriage ride through the city…beautiful!

Enjoy!

Weddings

Saturday, February 2nd, 2008

I’ve been to so many weddings it’s hard to keep count. Today I went to a wedding with my husband and my 2 year old daughter…and I wasn’t the photographer! It was so weird for me! When we were driving there and I was trying to remember the last time I just attended a wedding and I couldn’t.

The truth that hit me was how simple weddings are…two people love each other, exchange vows and rings, and they are pronounced husband and wife. WOW! Isn’t that an amazing thing? It’s a half an hour or an hour service and it changes their lives forever! That really struck me today. You don’t really know what you’re doing when you’re saying “I do” but that’s the amazing part. It’s after the wedding that we get to figure it out. AND I think we’re meant to be figuring it out our whole marriage. (Unless, I’m just really slow and haven’t caught up to everyone else.) Weddings are so beautiful! I truly have the greatest job in the world!!! People chose me to share the biggest day of lives…I love it!

I have to tell you the cutest story…I brought Adriah to the edge of our row and when the doors opened to present the bride she said, “WOW! Look Mama, it’s a princess!” Isn’t that adorable? One of those precious mother/daughter moments I’ll never forget.

Anyways, I’m tired and need to get to bed…but, as always, it’s fun to share my day with you!

Canvas vs. Print

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

I’m a big believer in keeping things simple! For this reason I don’t offer tons of different options for books and a million different complicated packages. I try and keep everything simple with 3 options at the very most.

I love the “brag book” that I offer with a couple of my wedding packages and I love “Sequoia leather bound book” that’s custom designed (available a-la-carte) AND my new favorite is the wonderful world of canvas. I’ve recently updated the consultation/office room in my home and I have different canvas sizes featured! In my opinion, it is the coolest way to captured the most important day of your life! I can’t wait to share it with the 2008 brides.

That’s one of things I’m really excited about in returning to Las Vegas for WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photography International) in March. I get to walk around the trade show and inspect the best books, printing, canvas and equipment companies…and make decisions…and spend lots of money! I highly recommend it for any starting photographer! The seminars and conversation helped shaped who I am as a photographer and I can’t wait to grow again!

I know some other photographers read my blog…any suggestions for books, printing, canvas or anything else? Or if you’re just starting do you have any questions about these areas?
