Welcome!

Thank you for coming to my blog and website! It means a lot to me. The world of blogging has become a part of my every day life and I love it. You will see everything on my blog...some of my recent photo shoots, some of what's going on in my world and some of what's happening in other peoples lives. It is a true reflection of me well, minus the spelling mistakes.

I started blogging a couple of years ago thinking it would be a great way to give my clients instant gratification. (who doesn't want to see their pictures ASAP after a shoot?) I never expected it to get as personal as it has...life took a turn and right after I started blogging one of my friends got pregnant with Sextuplets and I walked through the pregancy, birth, loss and triumph with their family...my blog became a place to share and meet friends! I've never turned back.

Of course, when people are getting to know me my name is a big topic. It is actually pronounced "No-Amy" (and yes, I've heard every joke running through your head right now!) Here's the story: I was born in Montevideo, Uruguay and my parents were trying to be nice to me by naming me a Spanish name but then changed their plans and moved back to Canada 16 months later. I've had to explain my name ever since. It's me and I wouldn't change it for anything but, I am sorry for the inconvience...it's worth it though!

I'm passionate about a lot of things but I have to say there's nothing like weddings. Have fun going through the galleries and slideshows on the blog. I hope it inspires you to call me, or pick up your camera and start shooting.

These are a few of my favorite things:

I love my husband Matt. My soulmate and perfect match. I was made for loving him.

Taking the perfect shot and showing it...seeing the person light up melts my heart every time.

I love my little girl Adriah. There's no one in the world like her. She inspires me to be kind.

I love to sing and sing loud! I'm a front row girl so i can belt it out and no one cares!

I love my little boy Leyton. I could into those eyes forever. Just thinking of him puts a smile on my face.

I love Musicals and I'm not ashamed to admit the I own quite a few!

I love the Starbucks drink "London Fog." If you haven't tried it yet...now is the time.

I love my family...there's nothing like family.

I love jeans the fit.

I love friends that are family!

I love spicy food and traveling anymore to try it!

Happy Birthday Sylas Morrison!

I was just talking to Brianna yesterday (they were on their way home from a multi-generational family camping trip in Wisconsin) and wished Sylas a Happy Belated Birthday! June 10th, 2007 will forever be etched in my memory. Late that night, we got a call from Ryan and Brianna saying that the doctors would be delivering their sextuplets that night. I made a few calls and rushed to the hospital with a couple of friends. We waited and waited. I got to go in and see Brianna and Ryan before the cesarean and I took some precious last minute pictures of her belly. Then we waited some more. It wasn’t long before we saw the carts and medical teams rush past us on their way to the tunnel from Abbott to Children’s Hospital. Then we heard the news we waited so long to hear. Tryg, Lincoln, Bennet, Sylas, Lucia and Cadence were born and were stable. They were born at 22 weeks and 6 days…they made history…the first sextuplets ever to be born in Minnesota. I was so proud to have witnessed such a miracle. I knew the hand of God was on this family, and I was so privileged to witness their courage through it all.

Matt and I visited with Brianna and her family in the recovery room hours later. Relief, uncertainty, joy, awe, wonder…were just a few of the emotions we felt. Brianna was doing amazing and was ready to see her babies!

The next day Matt and I returned to Children’s and met all six of the miracles for the first time. I had never seen anything like it in my life. These perfect little bodies…each weighing around a pound…fighting for their lives. We prayed, whisper sweet nothings, and simply stared in awe. I had the amazing privilege of documenting those precious moments for Ryan and Brianna! I was so honored.

In the weeks that followed we made many trips to the hospital and said sad goodbyes to 5 of those precious babies. In the midst of that grief, we are so grateful to the Lord for Sylas Christopher Morrison – who is alive and well. And now one year old! Every time I see I’m reminded of the miracle I witnessed and miracle his life represents. He is a gift from God!

The Morrison are throwing a party for Sylas on Saturday to celebrate his life! (I have a wedding so I won’t be there but Sylas knows I love him!)

Please continue to pray for this family. They are very special and close to my heart.

June 12, 2008 - 4:31 pm Rebecca - I thought about the Morrisons all last week and on Tuesday and continuing now. Sylas is such a cutie pie. :)

June 13, 2008 - 1:51 pm Beka - Noemi, I've loved how much I've been in awe and praise of our God through your words about Sylas. You've often reminded me (directly or indirectly) what a miracle he and his siblings were/are... Lately I've been pondering this wonder and reading this blog just now, remember the miracles of this past year brings me to tears. I'm just overwhelmed with life from our Creator. I can't wait until sat to celebrate with Ryan and Brianna.

June 14, 2008 - 1:49 pm Amber - Sylas and my husband share the same birthday, so I thought of Sylas on Tuesday (the 10th) as well. I am so glad to hear he is doing well, and I still think of the Morrisons. May they continue to be healed and strengthened in their faith.
