One of my fav. subjects…make-up!

This is totally random…but, what’s new?

I usually give my brides a list of tips on make-up for the wedding day so I thought it would be fun to expand it a bit and share it with you! (This is always my favorite section to read in magazines.) NOTE: most of these I use personally and love them a ton.

Here’s my recommendations/favorites for great products (have fun!)

-For facial cream – use what you’re used to and make sure it has SPF 15.

-For bright, long lasting eye shadow that looks great on film – hands down – MAC Cosmetics! They have every kind of bold and subtle color…if you’ve never purchased their stuff it’s a definite must!

-For crazy full, long lashes without fake eyelashes – Origins “Underwear for Lashes!” I love it…it coats your lashes with a white cream that dries and then you put your mascara over it! The results are remarkable!

-For incredible smooth skin I use the MAC Select Cover-up. It comes in a little tube but it lasts forever.

-For the “icing on cake” I love Bobby Brown Bronzer. Once you try it you’ll know why.

-Of course, for weddings, I feel that fake eye lashes are a must! There is no other event in your life that you will be more dressed up and the center of attention – the closest we all get to rock star status! Even the cheapo kits do the trick! My only request is that you practice wearing them before-hand.

-For the lips, I like a subtle liner and a tinted gloss. My fav’s are the Lancome Gloss and the MAC Glass.

-For mascara, I’ve read countless reviews (including Oprah) that say Great Lash is the best. It’s cheap but it works! So, why argue?

I can’t wait to hear the comments on this blog! Common girls…give me your tips!

For undereye coverage, nothing beats Bobby Brown concealer stick (believe me, I’ve tried it all) – no more dark circles! Also, Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer has spf 30, and gives just a hint of color and smooths out any discolorations. It’s expensive, but lasts a million years and works great!

I’ll be sure to try Cate’s undereye coverage, as I have found NOTHING that works. In the meantime, I am 46 years old and getting my picture taken in a few weeks. Any advice (especially for wrinkles!)?

Thanks for your awesome tips! Can you tell me where you buy these items? Is it one-stop shopping like Sephora? Or do you buy all of these at Macy’s? Just curious so I don’t spend all day shopping for them. Thanks!

An absolute must is the MAC eyeshadow base. It comes in a little tube. I think they actually sell it as a cream eyeshadow. It’s the perfect base for eyeshadow. I have a neutral color and it brightens the entire eye lid base before you put shadow on. One little tube will probably last about 8 months. It also helps absorb oil so eyeshadows won’t crease or fade into your skin.
