It's cold in Minnesota this time of year. But, we're Minnesotan and that doesn't scare us. An hour and a half in the cold...done! We had a blast shooting these Senior Portraits at the Mill City Museum and gutherie The trick is to plan plenty of time to warm up in between outdoor portraits!ENJOY!
The weather has been really unpredictable lately. When I schedule senior photos I do my best not to let the weather interfere, and once we start the shoot it's hard to stop! (Way too much fun!) But, then it went from spitting, kinda raining, to pouring and even then, Nat was amazing! She didn't care and totally got into the umbrella pictures. Not gonna lie, this is kinda a dream come true for photographers who love shooting in all kinds of weather :) We had fun. and I love the pictures we got from that rainy night...

The Stone Arch Bridge is a magical place in Minneapolis, MN. I love meeting families and senior there for portraits. I have so many fond memories and laughs on the bridge and in the ruins. This senior portrait session is one of them.
It was the perfect night for senior portraits...and we made the most of it. It's not easy to relax while a high volume of traffic is all around you, but we persevered. thanks for trusting me to capture you.
I have loved these last couple of Senior Portrait session. The girls have so many unique ideas and I love trying new creative shots on them! We have so much fun!!!
I take every opportunity I can to go to Minneapolis for Senior Photography. I love shooting in new locations and I love learning each Senior so I capture them in their element. So fun! Thanks Jen for being to be silly and crazy with me.
I have a confession...I used to get a little nervous when doing Senior Portraits for guys. I thought I was in for an hour or two of awkward posing and weird smiles. I was so wrong. Guys totally get into photo shoots. And it's so fun to show them pics and see them want to keep going. We had fun with this Senior Portraits session. I love the serious shots.
I know I must sound like a broken record but...I LOVE THE MINNESOTA HARVEST APPLE ORCHARD!!!! And no, I don't get tired of shooting there.
And yes, I will miss it until next fall.

I'm kinda loving taking Senior Portraits in Jordan, MN right now. I love the apple Orchard this time of year and I love old barns. This session was so enjoyable. I love working with new people that start off hesitant and then over the course of the shoot start trusting me and relaxing and having a blast! We end with some fun shoots that remind me of vintage movie stars...love that!
I love that Senior portraits gives every girl a chance to dress up "fancy," but also gives them a change to be themselves...hockey? yes, please. Centennial Lakes in Edina, MN was the perfect backdrop. The sun setting at the end of our session couldn't have been timed better.
Outfits, jumping in and out of cars, accessories, laughs, cameras, chasing light and more laughs...that's what Senior Portraits should be about.
The snow falls and I'm still shooting…my fingers get a little cold but, the beauty of the season change makes it worth it!
I love climbing rocks, trees and anything needed to get the shot. But, I also figuring out each client and capturing them as they are and not how I think Senior Portraits should be. Nate totally relaxed as soon as we were shooting outside…so that's where we stayed.
I love shooting in my town because I'm always on the look out for stunning backgrounds and when I'm driving around...I find them. Prior Lake is beautiful and we're able to take Senior Portraits without tons of people in the background. Mitchell's photo session made me want to capture more Senior Portraits of guys! We had a blast and I love capturing his personality!
It's unusual to get to capture someone who's relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera...and even more unusual to find that combo in a guy AND a senior! Thank you for making my job so easy.
I love shooting Senior Portraits! And this shoot was amazing! The light, the girl and the Mom! We had so much posing, laughing, dancing, walking, and laughing some more. See for yourself!

I'm proud to call the little town of Prior Lake my home AND I take every opportunity I can to shoot my photography here! It's beautiful. Just so happens Sam lives in the area and was happy to do her Senior portraits close to home! We had tons of fun (and outfits!) for this shoot...have I mentioned how much I love what I do!? Well, I love being a photographer...just for the record.
I think this is officially my last Senior Portrait shoot of 2011. We had this shoot on November 19th and it was our first "real" snow fall! Hannah was such a trooper! She was willing to do her dance moves (in jeans, no less) over and over while the snow pelted her face! I hope the shots we got make her smile. As you know...I love lines. I especially love the "lines" dancers make with their extended arms and poised legs. Beautiful.

Well, I would capture one of the first Senior for an hour (outfit changes included) and then the second Senior would come and I'd capture you together for 30 min. then the last hour is just for the second Senior (outfit changes included). Doesn't this sound so fun? Both girls would get the images of them together and then a separate images of their personal shoot!
