Abbey and Jon's Engagement Pictures

This shoot started off with 90 degree weather and within an hour we were in the middle of a sand storm that turned into a vicious thunder storm! It was crazy. But, we were still able to get great shots! I love shooting at the University of Minnesota...and this couple was up for anything...which makes my job so easy!

Lisa and Shane's Engagement Pictures

There are so many beautiful places to take pictures in the twin cities! Sometimes the hardest part of a shoot is deciding where to take them. We decided we wanted to have the lakes, bridges and beautiful landscaping...and we had a great time while we were at it! They are one of those couples that I can't wait to shoot their wedding. It's obvious they are in love. Plus, they have an adorable little car that takes corners on a dime...I like it! I'm sure they'll love that I mentioned that on my blog! :) LOL!

Christi & Tony's Engagement Photos

I'm super excited for this couple! They scored the St. Paul Cathedral for their wedding in a couple weeks and they scored me as their "super-excited" photographer! Have you been to the St. Paul Cathedral? It's so beautiful and historic and HUGE! Walking into the cathedral commands a hush and walking around in a hush is awe inspiring! Needless to say, I'm looking forward to capturing them in this beautiful building. We decided to go to the Arboretum for their engagement pictures! It was a gorgeous location. I have been their before but going in the spring (or our early summer) makes all the difference!

Enjoy!

Maureen & Evan's Engagement Pictures

We're back in the swing of things and here's the first batch of engagement pictures of the season! I'm so excited to introduce you to this couple...they've been dating since highschool and it was so easy to capture their love for each other! We took the pictures at the University of Minnesota campus (Evan had just taken his final exam the morning of our shoot!) I hope you enjoy them...

Hillary and John's -Engagement Pictures

It's not often that I get to go to the actual location where the groom-to-be proposed! We were all very excited...until we realized that the very tree he proposed by was cut down. Ooops! It still made for amazing pictures. It was easy to captured this couples love! They are gentle and kind toward each other...I'm happy to be a part of their wedding in October.

Meghan and Jeff's Engagement Pictures

I love this couple! They were willing to do anything. I would see a shot and they were climbing in and out of ditches, over trees and rocks, in and out of rivers and...she was wearing 3 or 4 inch heals!!! If this is any indication of what the wedding pictures will be like, I'm going to get great shots! I can't wait!

Can you believe they were nervous...and even told me they were shy in front of a camera! You'd never know it!

Engagement Pictures

Probably 50% of my clients this year asked to trade out their engagement pictures for an extra hour of shooting the day of the wedding. I want to be flexible but I also want clients to see the value of the engagement session.

Getting your picture taken is not easy for some. AND getting your picture taken by a stranger is harder. AND getting your picture taken when there's pressure to produce the greatest shots ever is even harder. The engagement session helps us work out all the bugs...so all these reason it will be a part of all my packages next year!

I usually talk to the bride and groom about a location that is meaningful to them as a couple. Here's a few locations I recommend: Centennial Lakes, Edina , Harriet Island and Harriet Island Regional Park, St. Paul (click here to watch video), Minneapolis Sculpture Gardens, and for more informal shots any kids play area and forest will do!

List of things to bring:

-engagement ring

-one or two extra shirts (I take a lot of pictures and it's nice to have a couple different looks)

-any unique "memory-type-things" (eg. stuff animal given on first date, jewelry, a card or anything else that makes you laugh!)
