This is my second of many photo shoots that I plan to do with this family...they are so fun! Everything about this shoot screams summer...bliss!
This is my second of many photo shoots that I plan to do with this family...they are so fun! Everything about this shoot screams summer...bliss!
I love following a family through their stages of life.Want to take a trip back in time? Pictures can do that... HERE IS THE SHOOT where I first captured this couple a couple of years ago to celebrate being married and in love!
HERE IS THE NEXT SHOOT where I captured their growing family...Addy was 2 and they had just found out that they were expecting! I think I was among the first to find out :)
Now for the arrival of Charlie! I had the incredible opportunity to capture them in their beautiful home. Documenting their new life was my privilege.
Here's what I'm working on today! Posing. Understanding posing will go along way...you'll think of your profile pictures differently, take a minute to give instructions to anyone your capturing, and be happier with your shots! Remember if what you're reading is new and eye-opening AND you're interested in developing your photography...we still have a couple spots open at the upcoming FOCUSED Photography Workshop!
Yes, there is a whole art/craft/world of posing and I love understanding it so that I can bring the best out of each person I photograph. I'm going to walk you through what makes a good shot and what makes a shot great!
Take a look at some of my examples and then check out what other pros are saying!
If you missed Part One - it's not too late to check it out!
So we went away for 36 hours and I probably said, "Thank you for inviting me!" 20 times. I was so happy to be in the woods, in a log cabin, no kids, just friends, and tons of photography talk! Thursday night we went into town and where we got inspired we stop and took photos...soooo fun! So I'm gonna walk you through our creative moments. Here's the group of us. Starting from the left Alison, Emily, Erin, Olivia, Tasha, Kendra, and me! Incredible women with amazing talent.
First wedding of the season is a always kinda a coming out party! I love weddings and I love capturing love! Let's get to the images...
It's always an honor to capture a family...it's a blessing to capture them more then once...it's AMAZING to meet the WHOLE family! Thank you Heuser family for having me come and capture sweet Trudi's 90th Birthday. Here's a few images from the shoot!
I love this family! They are so sweet and well...gorgeous! I've been wanting to capture them for a long time and I'm so glad it finally worked out for them to be our models for the FOCUSED Photography Workshop! I knew this couple when they were "just friends", "courting", "engaged", "newly married", then surprise! "pregnant!" and again, and again! Children are a blessing from the Lord and this couple has been incredibly blessed with three beautiful girls...so far!
I love capturing families. I love capturing people I have known for a long time. I love being able to see people get married and have kids and see how they change. I love watching people parent and come into their own. I seeing a Mom dream and then work to make her dreams happen. I love being a small part of this...beautiful family! My images from the last Mom FOCUSED Photography Workshop:
I love my kids and I love the art of birthday parties and ALL that that means. Deep down I'm a "go big or go home" kinda girl...maybe that's why I love America so much! :) Here's what I did for Leyton's truck theme birthday! We invited boys and their dads to come for the party and everything we did involved the Dad's playing with their sons.
My little girl Clara has given me a run for my money. It supposed to easier with each kid right? In some ways it is easier because I'm a much more of a settled mom (and person) then I was with my first. But, Clara does not get all my attention so things like staying on top of veggies have really slipped. She is my picky eater...my non-talker...my non-walker...bundle of pure love. AND she's 15 months! Who knows when she's going to add more words to her mama-dada-hi-bye vocabulary. But, ohh she gives the best hugs. She loves to linger and give kisses...yes the slobber kind! She has my heart and she knows it.
But ohh, she is gorgeous.
We just finished the Mom FOCUSED Photography Workshop and now we're gearing up for the next one! FOCUSED Photography Workshop June 18th, 2011 click here to learn more Here's a couple images from our last one...Me teaching and shooting:
And then a workshop wouldn't be a workshop if I didn't show you some of the attendees greatness! I have to say this and I know I'm going to sound cheezy but, I don't care...I'm so proud of these girls and their photography! Here's some of the photographs of the incredible women who came:

I'm so privileged to be a Mom and a Professional Photographer. I love seeing Mom's learn their cameras and gain confidence to take better pictures of their kids. And what better weekend the Mother's Day!
Yes...this is my lovely sister and her amazing family! Little Libby is only 2 months younger then my youngest. One of the greatest gifts has been sharing motherhood with her! Even from across the ocean (they live in England.) But on a recent visit I got to capture them as a family! So fun! I'm so excited to share my sister with you.
I've known Carole since she was a little Freshmen at Bethany College of Missions over 10 years ago. We've both changed and our family have grown! Here's some shots from our shoot together.
This was my first time capturing this family and it was hilarious! Their two year was on the move and had no interest in getting her picture taken. We had to pull out all the stops and just follow where ever she went. It made for creative shots...in the bathroom...gotta love kids! Ohh yah and thank you to the lovely Monkey would made these sitting shots possible! :)
I've been taking pictures of this precious family for years and I LOVE THEM DEARLY! I love that the dad is even coming around on the importance of pictures...I think it's cause I make the photo session so fun! :) Sweet Harper. I don't know what to say about you. You are a doll. Your sweet in every way. I love listening to you talk...waiting to hear the next cute thing you're going to say. I'm so glad you know who I am.
Enjoy!
