Wedding photography is still my favorite. I love capturing love.
I love being there for moments of impact.
I love pretty things. And beautiful people.
This couple was beautiful inside and out.

Take a walk with me down memory lane. My life was changed when a close friend got pregnant with sextuplets at the same time I started writing a blog. As a result I started shooting tons families of multiples. This is when I met the Gruber Family. Their sweet twins were so tiny the first time I captured them.
And then they grew...
Here they are today...
Outdoor maternity photography in freezing weather? Why not? We can always defrost in the car afterward, right? Right. If clients are willing I will ALWAYS shoot outside. Nature is where I'm most inspired. God's creation is the most beautiful background :) And how about the little creation in her belly? Each one is a miracle and a blessing.
I have known this family since they had their first baby. I've been capturing their family portraits ever since. Seeing their family grow and change through the years has been such a delight...and sharing my family with them makes it even sweeter.
Family Photography is drawing to a close and all the fall Mini Sessions are almost posted on the blog. I see the colors fading and feel the temperature dropping...I know what comes next. Before I go there, I want you know it's been nice to remember this fall...
I used a new location for fall Family Portraits and I loved it! Have you been to Murphy's Landing? It's absolutely gorgeous. I plan to shoot there a lot this year.
Here's a few of the family portraits I captured at the last Mini Sessions. Fall is my favorite season (even if it is followed by winter.) I love the families I have the privilege of capturing every year.
Here's a few that I took of my beautiful friend Ali (http://www.alisonleaphotography.com) and her sweet family...
The lovely Clark family. After a morning of rain, perfect light was everywhere for our afternoon family photo session.
Have I mentioned how much I love Minnesota Harvest? yup, I do.
why? Trees, color, stacked logs, rows of apple trees...and taste testing the apples while shooting :)
Minnesota Harvest a couple weeks ago...was raining and cold, but that didn't stop us from getting awesome family portraits in 20 min. I love it when clients trust me enough to march through the wet grass, in the rain, and the cold...we're crazy right? But it is kinda fun.
Minnesota in the fall. Beauty and colors.
Cozies and slippers.
But family portraits have a special spot in my heart.
Nothing like the light of the sun coming through leaves when they're changing colors...sit back and enjoy.
I love the fall. I love apples. (especially honey crisp)
I love color.
I love Gods creation.
I love the feeling of hope in new beginnings.
I love capturing families...and the background of Minnesota Harvest is one of my favorites!

There's nothing like taking your own kids out for a photo session...one of the most humbling experiences EVER. They want to be silly...
or they don't want to smile...
or they smile too hard...
or they just run away...
LOL.
I'm sure it's very entertaining to watch!
Tips from a Professional Photographer:
1. Hire some outside your family to take pictures
2. Don't take your kids out during their dinner hour
3. Bring treats to bribe
4. Have someone behind the photographer to make them giggle
5. Don't yell at them, or criticize, or scold - all things that don't make them smile
6. Do have lots of stories about tooting, farting, burping on hand.
(I broke every rule except #6 on my last shoot with my kids...it's amazing what you resort to when trying to make your kids smile for the camera and that's why rule #1 is so important!!!!!!)
Here's the final product...they are still THE MOST BEAUTIFUL KIDS I have ever seen.
Because at some point I just let them be kids. The poses at the end are their own creations. They are amazing kids.
I loved the details of this wedding! There's so many incredible wedding details...I had to share them with you. If you're a bride looking for unique ideas...this wedding is candy. Thank you Jenny and Don for inviting me to be a part of your wedding! I loved being your photographer.
Getting to capture the same families portraits over and over is such a wonderful privilege. Finding new spots that we haven't used before can be a challenge...I'm happy with the locations we used. Sometimes the simplest is greatest! Especially since this location (Savage, MN) is one I drive past almost every day. Also, they were such great sports and brought their own fake mustaches. I LOVE IT!
This wedding was such a fun day. From beginning to end I laughed...that's saying a lot because it was over 90 degrees all day! It was lovely! It reminded me why I love being wedding photographer. My favorite moment? When I talked the wedding party into getting ice cream...it melted in less then 3 minutes and it was sticky and messy AND THEY DIDN'T CARE! loved that.
Friends that are like family... that's what the Forsberg's are to me and my family.
We cherish them and their kids.
Capturing their family portraits is something I look forward to every year.
Enjoy!
I went back to Canada a couple of weeks ago...it was all about family! I had to bring my camera though...just so I could capture their beauty. My sweet sisters.
My nephew and my sister.
My new niece and bro-in-law.
My siblings...who live in 3 countries...are together.
Bath time.
Family photos.
Crazy hair day.
Simple laughs...playing with the phonebook :)
And quiet baby moments.
I love that.
New clients are always welcome...especially when they are as sweet as this family! I love capturing friends and neighbors in the beauty of our town Prior Lake. It's truly a joy!
And there's nothing like a little bit of baseball sprinkled in too.
I used to shoot at Centennial Lakes (Edina, MN) all the time and then I stopped...every now and then I love going back. It was packed the night we went last week but that didn't stop us from getting amazing engagement photography and sweet moments.
