I take every opportunity I can to go to Minneapolis for Senior Photography. I love shooting in new locations and I love learning each Senior so I capture them in their element. So fun! Thanks Jen for being to be silly and crazy with me.

It's always a privilege to be asked back. Getting to capture this couple's wedding a few years ago and then being welcomed into their home and introduced to their incredible family made my day! Family photography is a gorgeous way to freeze time and remember the incredible blessings that surround our lives. I encourage every family to have portraits done yearly not just cause I'm a family photographer, but because it's so worth it!!! And...it can be fun!

It's rare that I get to attend a wedding without taking pictures...but, I did manage to take a few of my kids before we got in the car! Keep in mind they have a VERY low tolerance for Mom taking their picture. :)
They are crazy...but, they are my crazy and I love them soooooo much!

I love that this client found me while living in Korea and googling Minnesota Family Photography. We had a great time climbing rocks, racing on railroad tracks and romping through the forest. I loved ending the shoot with mommy in her every day uniform.

I love it when I get to capture family photography for clients year after year. My favorite part is when they get out of the car and I'm shocked at how much they have changed. Then I have the privilege seeing their personalities grow...all through my lens. I love my job.

I have a confession...I used to get a little nervous when doing Senior Portraits for guys. I thought I was in for an hour or two of awkward posing and weird smiles. I was so wrong. Guys totally get into photo shoots. And it's so fun to show them pics and see them want to keep going. We had fun with this Senior Portraits session. I love the serious shots.

TOP 10 Places to Shoot in Minnesota...
I had one of my readers write in and ask me to do a top 10 list for new places she can shoot 5 years ago...and it's still one of the top hits on my blog. I thought I'd bring it back for the new families looking for family photography locations. Here's what I came up with:
- Stillwater - it's got great little antique shops, bed and breakfasts, the river runs through it and every picture is gorgeous! I could tell you about it or just cut and paste from the city website. Stillwater is a dynamic, growing community of approximately 18,000 residents nestled into the bluffs of the St. Croix River, one of America's protected Wild and Scenic Waterways. Located just 20 miles east of downtown St. Paul, our family-oriented community offers the advantages and conveniences of living near the Twin Cities metropolitan area plus the peacefulness and safety of small town Minnesota.
- Harriet Island - It's a great little nook...tucked away and perfect for a stroll through the park or for an engagement shoot!
- Stone Arch Bridge - I found tons of pictures that capture the beauty of the bridge...but, I love going there and reading the signs and walking and taking a shot or two in places people haven't found yet...let me know what you find!
- Any wild grass open field with character - Seriously, you don't need to go far to get great shots. I'm constantly finding new simple spots all around me. Stick a kid in the middle of a field and let them run...you'll get great shots!
- Sculpture Gardens - The Walker museum is gorgeous and walking through the gardens is so relaxing...you should do it without your camera first and then go back with a client.
- Arboretum - I have not been there enough! I think there's a gorgeous spot behind every corner. A million different plants and flowers...totally beautiful! I think I just read it's free for Chanhassen residents to go on August 7th...I LOVE FREE! too bad I live in Prior Lake.
- Centennial Lakes - I almost didn't use this one cause I've been there a ton and kinda like to try new places but, the truth is...it's beautiful and worth visiting! It's got stone, flowers, green, water, fountains...just to name a few!
- Downtown...just park and walk, have your camera ready. look for brick walls or alleys or bright colors or reflections...man, I want to hop in my car and go now!
- Anywhere in St.Paul (schools, parks, Grand Ave...too hard to narrow down) There's a beautiful park beside the library, the St. Paul hotel, and a Theater...I love shooting at all those locations.
- Any small town (Chaska is adorable!)

Minneapolis Wedding Photography - Adrienne and Rafe
Minneapolis Wedding Photography at the Basilica of Mary is pretty awesome. Add an amazing couple, sweet family and rockin' wedding party and you have a party! Ending the day at the Arboretum for the reception so pretty much perfect! We had so much fun capturing this wedding and I think pictures say it best.

Arkansas Wedding Photography? who knew? I don't often travel for weddings...but for friends I do special things. this wedding was worth it.
plus, I love the south.

Senior Portraits - Jordan, MN
I'm kinda loving taking Senior Portraits in Jordan, MN right now. I love the apple Orchard this time of year and I love old barns. This session was so enjoyable. I love working with new people that start off hesitant and then over the course of the shoot start trusting me and relaxing and having a blast! We end with some fun shoots that remind me of vintage movie stars...love that!
Dalida Family Portraits - Jordan, MN
I love the Dalida family. I've been taking their family portraits for years and I'm hoping for many more years because they are lovely! And we have so much fun doing our family photo sessions. We laugh.
