Mike Colon Workshop - Wedding Photography

I was so excited to hear the words, "Are you ready for the bride and groom's second outfit?" Ummm yes. I love the second part of this shoot because we moved to where the Red Rock was in the background. I changed a bunch of these photos to Black and White because I loved how it added to the extreme modern look of the bride and groom.

I use the Canon Mark III camera, 70-200 lens and changed it up with the 35mm for a couple of BIG shots.

WPPI Vegas Workshop with Mike Colon

Mike Colon is a photographer that I have followed for years. (and I don't really "follow" photographers) Mike's photography and business values are clean and strive for integrity...that's what I want for my business. Mike Colon Workshop Review: It truly was my pleasure to work along side him and learn from him.

Here's a few images from our Red Rock Wedding Photoshoot...(side note: Oh how I miss the sun!) I shot all of these with the Canon Mark III camera and the 70-200mm lens.

Meghan & Brandon - Minneapolis Wedding Photography

The last wedding of each year is always special...somehow the end of an era. This wedding was my "dream" way to end the season. Know why? 1. Incredible Bride and Groom

2. Details done to perfection!

3. Ceremony at the Basilica

4. Reception at Target field Metropolitan Club

5. The guests included some of my favorite people!

Christy & Chris's Wedding Photography - Stillwater, MN

Wedding photography is my first love...and then I have a lot of close seconds with all the other portraits and events I do! Weddings are special and this was so amazing! There is no better compliment you can give a wedding photographer then recommending her for another wedding. At Chris and Christy's wedding I got to chat and dance with 2 other brides! Love, love, love!

Alexis and Keith's Wedding Photography - Phoenix, Arizona

Every once and a while an opportunity to capture a wedding comes up that I get really excited about the photography. This wedding was one of those! I heard vineyard, desert, staying with friends and wedding...and I was sold! Alexis and Keith's wedding ceremony was amazing. It was the minister sharing their story and how God brought them together. By the end I felt like I knew them as a couple and I encouraged in my own faith. INCREDIBLE!

I love Wedding Photography!

A picture says a thousand words. I love this picture!

How you heard this quote before?

Ask not what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive... then go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive. Howard Thurman

It's simple. I love capturing love. And I love being there to serve the bride and groom on the biggest day of their lives...so far.

Thank you for trusting me. I don't take it for granted!

Carole and Andrew's Wedding Photography - Minneapolis, MN

I love getting to capture a wedding for a friend...even better when my husband is the officiant for the wedding. Hearing him talk about love and marriage is incredible! Seeing it through the eyes of newlyweds is amazing! Can you figure out where we shot these photos? Hint: Somewhere in Minneapolis!

"EVERYBODY DANCE!" "What?" "Seriously, DANCE!" "Ok."

Gabrielle and Don's Wedding Photography - Redwing, MN

I'm usually pretty good about posting Wedding pictures on the blog within the first week...but, sometimes life happens and my good intentions get "trumped." I'll share my story on tomorrows post! Today's post is all about Gabrielle and Don! They are sweet couple and had an incredibly elegant "barn themed" country wedding! It was my privilege to capture it for them.

Thank you for choosing me to be your wedding photographer...I'm honored!

Stephanie and Nathan - Wedding Workshop Photography Feature

Yup! this proves that I love my job and that I WILL DEFINITELY BE DOING MORE WEDDING WORKSHOPS!

Are they absolutely adorable!

AND they are so easy to work with...

...it helps that we both have a background in

yup you guessed it!

musical theater!

We speak the same dramatic language of love!

Nicky and Altamir - Wedding Photography Workshop Feature

Ohh my goodness. Brace yourself. My friends Nicky and Altamir are gorgeous! And she is a "real" professional ballerina and he is a "real" professional bass player. I wanted to capture their love for the arts and tie in the Cinderella Story. These pictures make me smile :) Enjoy!

Dana & Pete, Minneapolis Wedding Photography

There is so much I love about Wedding Photography! But my favorite is seeing all the details come together and the complete day going off without a hitch and the bride and groom delighting in every moment...okay, so I guess I have a couple favorite things! This wedding was absolutely gorgeous. So, if you're planning your wedding and looking for ideas get out your notebook!

I'm so excited I just might burst!

FOCUSED Photography Workshops this summer...

Five summers ago I had several beginning photographers ask me if they could come alongside to watch everything I do and be able to ask all about it...I wanted to help but I didn't want to do all of that in front of a client so I started hosting and teaching FOCUSED Photography Workshops. And I've been teaching a few a year ever since and I love it! I posted the sneak preview earlier this spring but now I'm ready to tell you the details! This year I'm going to do something I've never done before (which I totally love doing!) I'm going to do a Wedding FOCUSED Photography Workshop! This is going to be incredible.

Up to 12 people will be able to join the experience of two wedding stories. I have models lined up (2 couples - girls dressed in a wedding dresses and suits for the boys!) AND the whole focus of the workshop is to teach you about telling the story of love. "The big story" is the one we all understand and relate to...Cinderella meets her prince Charming. And "the individual story" is all learning the couple and telling their journey of love. Every couple is different! Your job as the photographer is to learn them and tell their story. (Seriously, THE greatest job in the world!)

Who should attend?

Aspiring and/or established photographers who want to freshen up their portfolios and learn new technical and creative photography techniques. *Specifically for photographers interested in understanding the business of weddings and desiring to expand their wedding portfolio. Learn how photojournalism works...how to tell the couples story through pictures!

Cost Includes:

- Over 5 hours of hands-on training with Noemi Hedrick

- Live styled models to add to your portfolio

- Signed model releases on file to ensure you have the rights to use the images you shoot

- Technical & Creative on the spot training

- Learn how to get consistently accurate exposures in changing lighting situations

- Interacting with models, natural posing techniques, capturing images with impact that will stand the test of time

- Q&A during and after shoot to discuss challenges

WHAT TO BRING?

Bring your digital SLR camera and a smile:)

Preferred lens is a 70-200mm to keep everyone at the same shooting distance so we don't get in each other's way. You can bring other lenses as long as you are considerate and avoid standing in front of other attendees during the shoot. All gear should be stored on your person to keep you mobile. Bring paper and pen for on-the-go note-taking.

Date - Saturday, July 28th, 2012 Time - 2:00p.m. - 7p.m. Location - Meeting Location will be emailed to attendees. Cost $149.00 (The cost includes the newly release E-book - $20 value) Level: Advanced (some prior knowledge of DSLR functions needed)

If you are a photographer interested in putting together a portfolio of weddings - this is for you! If you are just starting and weddings are what you eventually want to do - this is for you! If you just graduated from film school but want some hands on experience - this is for you! If you want to have fun and learn more about telling a story with your camera - this is for you!

I have 2 gorgeous Cinderellas and their handsome princes lined up to captured by you! I can't wait! Probably going to be my favorite Workshop to date so I hope you can come.
