Adriah is in kindergarten and is Star Student this week. Part of that week is having the parent write a letter, note, poem that will be read to the class about the Star that week! I used to write poetry all the time for no reason at all but, for my love of writing. Now, I don't write a lot...that is until Star Student week!
Adriah - the kind princess
There is no one in the world like you and there never will be.
You were my start to parenting, my end to longing for a baby.
Carrying you, holding you for the first time, and cuddling you now,
I know I am blessed by God, me with you and you with me.
Adriah Liberty, my "love of life" and "Freedom," choose wisely.
Oh I have learned from you, and the heart you lend.
Kindness is your gift...yours to freely give because you have received.
You are tenderhearted, kindred spirited, and loyal to no end.
Children are a blessing from the Lord and you are mine.
"Lord, grant me the ability to find out who you are and let you be,
But, pour in truth, love and hope so that you soar higher...above this world,"
to know you are called with purpose to love your King freely.
Forever my first born and princess in waiting,
One look from your lovely eyes and I melt in a sea of memories,
You were born to lead in kindness, thoughtfulness is yours,
I pray wisdom goes before you and you follow her carefully.
After all that...Adriah told she's really excited about me writing a letter about her. She was very clear that she didn't want a poem and a letter is best. So, I guess this poem was for me to write AND YOU to read! I hope you enjoyed getting to know my little girl. I adore her! Now...off to write my letter.
