We've been under a foot (or more!) of snow for the last month and it's beautiful. Not the yucky brown snow but bright white snow that falls fresh every couple of days. I love it when the sun shines and bounces off of the snow...it's so bright I need sunglasses. I'm thankful for the beauty of snow. My kids love the snow too. They are out every day to enjoy their snow-cones and icicle dessert treats. I love how their cheeks get so red and just when I think "they have got to be freezing!" I ask and both of them look up and say, "It's not even cold out Mom!" I thankful for my hard-core Minnesotan kids.
Christmas is coming. This past week my husband, Matt, preached on Advent. I don't remember spending a lot of time thinking about Advent as a child but, I've really grown to appreciate it as an adult. His message of waiting and anticipating the reason of the season was amazing. I know I'm a little biased but, you can see for yourself. (Just click on sermons and listen to the one titled Advent) I thankful for a husband that loves Jesus, pursues truth and communicates with eloquence.
After a long season of wedding and portrait photography I always look forward to winter because I get to slow down and become a home-body again. This past wedding season was my busiest yet and I enjoy this time of year cause I get to change gears and instead of shooting I'm designing wedding albums for my brides. I'm thankful for a wonderful year of photography and looking forward to all that's in store for next year.
I'm a kid at heart and I when I look at our countdown board and see 18 days until Christmas...I get really excited! I love sharing that excitement with my kids.
I have so much to be thankful for. Sometimes it's overwhelming but, I delight in being overwhelmed with thankfulness.
